Photos: Tuscola Winter Window Walk Part 2

This is the second part of the Tuscola Winter Window Walk. Begin with Part 1.


Window 13 has gingerbread houses. This is one of the prettier buildings which is periwinkle with white trim.




Window 14 has mittens.




These mittens belong to the same building and hold a holiday card.




Window 15 shows a dog and a tree. This is for a dog day care.




Its other window has more dogs.




Window 16 belongs to a photography studio and shows holiday candy.




Window 17 has trees and deer.




Window 20 belongs to a women's clothing store and shows pink ice skates.




Window 19 belongs to The Vault art gallery, featuring a paintbrush and a sled. This is a great community art gallery with many dozens of artists across a huge range of media, styles, content, and prices.




Window 18 belongs to Tuscola Township Offices. This one has a snow plow.




The other side has a tree.




Window 21 is a florist and shows a lantern.




This is one of the street signs I passed, for Sale Street.




Here is a wide view of Tuscola City Hall.




These snowmen are part of Window 1.




Here's the number 1 with the Winter Window Walk sign.




Snowflake decor hangs inside the window.




This sign is for Pembroke Street. That's an old brick street; a lot of towns around here have a few left.




Window 22 shows an igloo.




Mi Veracruz Mexican Grill has Window 7 with a snowball fight. This is the last one we found.




Window 7 shows a snowball fight.




I really enjoyed walking around town -- admittedly, riding between a few of the farther sites -- looking for windows to capture. Counting from the pictures, I got all but Window 4. It's such a fun thing for a town to do. I'll watch for other examples.

Tough to pick a favourite. I like the warm winter wishes mittens, and also the cute dogs, but I think the snow plough on a municipal building edges them out for my fave.

I'm glad you liked this.

A lot of the art did reference the building's purpose, although not all of it did. That was fun.

I think the snowplow is awesome. The igloo is a favorite too.

The fishing hole by the igloo is fun. And I liked the blue and white candy canes on the building with blue and white stripes because it showed the artist had thought about the designs.

There are several places where the paintings pick up building colors or motifs like that. Because the batteries were low despite just changing them, I was't able to take wider-view shots of most places that would've given more context for the paintings.
