I didn't manage any flânage at all :( Partly because my stupid ankle was being stupid, partly because of work. But bob did the bus flan and hopefully will report back!

Oh, I'm especially sorry you're having ankle trouble! I hope it at least gives you an extra excuse not to move around too much in the hot weather. ;-)

Thanks! I did manage a few walks on my A-Z project, though I had to do them in little bits because of the ankle. Actually, if I hadn't had to prioritise that project, I'd have been able to fit in some flans. So really it was walking stopping me from walking, if you see what I mean :)

Have you got a link to some words of explanation for the pretty map of your A-Z project? (Only if you have time, obv.)

Apparently I have! I wrote this when I started the project.

Essentially, I'm walking across every page of the A-Z, without going off the top or the bottom of the page (going into the margins is OK). I'm also keeping a continuous line. Oh, and I'm not allowed to cross the streams (i.e. intersect with an earlier line of walking), though I am allowed to go back on myself (e.g. I can walk down a road to get to something I want to photograph and then walk back to the intersection and carry on).

Thanks! Once I finish the A-Z walks, I may do it again but going north-south instead of east-west. Probably starting in the southwest corner in the hope that by the time I get back to Dagenham someone will have built a bridge to Erith...

(Psst... you could hire a boat? They're not actually that expensive, especially if you can find a boat owner on a local club forum who likes your idea and might only charge you for fuel.)

I am also sorry to hear about your ankle and work getting in the way! The buses will still at least be there though to do the challenge at another time.
