Wow - that takes me back. I used to live in Herefordshire and my dad drove buses. He mostly did the 503 and the 292, though.

It's amazing how evocative place names and even route numbers can be. I nearly tried starting a "what's the most interesting street/place name you've visited and are there any places on your hypothetical To Visit list just because of their name?" post/thread.

Are there 503 or 292 bus routes near where you are now? ::curiosity::

There's a 503 (Lane End - Godalming - Guildford) but no 292.

On the Isle of Wight (where my family now live, and where my brother drives buses) 503 is a school run from Ryde to Newport, and again there's no 292.
