September challenge

Hello! Just a brief admin note that there will be another challenge happening soon — I've mentioned it to a couple of people already and they didn't tell me it was a ridiculous idea, so I'll be going ahead with it :)

Sorry I've been a little absent recently, but I've not had much spare time over the past month. Hopefully I'll be able to post up the challenge properly within the next couple of days.

In the meantime, anyone been on any good walks lately?

I've been cheating on flaneurs and walking in the countryside. I've discovered that I tend to get lost more in town but wounded more in the country.... ;-)

I get lost in the country — I need road signs to tell me where I am, and satellite dishes to tell me which way is south :)

Oh, that's a very elegant skew arch bridge. Not that I'm still completely obsessed with them or anything. ::shifty::

I wasn't gushing about aqueducts and viaducts yesterday either.... much. Did I mention the 68 arch, curved, viaduct with many skew arches? Or my new interest in spandrels?

I managed a brief wander in Worcester today. I spied another of those windmills-n-stuff gardens and enough hideous pediments to justify a whole picspam devoted to them.

I had to look spandrels up — I never knew there was a name for the corner bits on an arch! You've given me another thing to look out for.

That viaduct sounds like one of the best things ever.
