Quick reply, more later — if you'd like to make the photos smaller, you can find the smaller sizes on Flickr by going to the photo page (the one with the black background where it shows the photo above the fold and the info underneath, e.g. this) and then clicking on the downwards-pointing arrow at the bottom right corner of the black area. This should give you a popup where you can choose sizes — "Medium" works pretty well, or you can click on "View all sizes" for a visual guide. Note that sometimes the downward-pointing arrow takes a while to show up when the photo page is loading.
