[personal profile] kake posting in [community profile] flaneurs

Hello again [community profile] flaneurs! I hope everyone's having a good weekend. I just wanted to mention a couple of admin-related things.

First of all, do any of you feel creative? We could do with an icon for the community, and maybe even some kind of banner for promoting it elsewhere. I'm also happy to change the layout if people have any suggestions.

Re tagging, in the spirit of serendipity I've enabled tag creation for all members, so feel free to tag your posts however you see fit (see our tag list if you want some inspiration). Note that this also allows you to add and delete tags on other people's posts — please be polite about this. (I may revisit this policy if it ends up too messy.)

Please feel free at any point to post about your adventures, present or past, in whatever format you like. As I said before, I have no grand plan for driving this community, so please post the kind of things you would like to read!

Finally, how do you all feel about allowing posts that are simply pointers to content posted elsewhere on Dreamwidth, or elsewhere outside of Dreamwidth? I have no strong opinion on these. I do know that many of you post about your adventures on your own journals, and it would be nice to have these shared with the rest of the community in some way, but perhaps people already have each other on their reading lists and so extra pointers would be a bit redundant. What do you think?

I'm not much good at iconification or bannerization, but I offer up one of my photos for use in either, if you'd like:

Even if people in this community are in my Circle, Dreamwidth is so new that it's likely I haven't read posts that are more than 1-2 years (or even 1-2 months) old. If they want to share their adventures here as well as on their journals, I'd be happy to be pointed at that content.

PS I gave making a banner a go: here. As disclaimed before, am not good at this sort of thing, so it's more an idea for a tagline than anything else.

I'd definitely support people cross-posting or linking to reports of adventures on their journals. The nature of a comm is that you meet lots of new people you don't necessarily have in your DW circle.

Here's a cropped, icon-y version for use as a base, if anyone wants to go ahead and add to it! (Cropped to my favourite part of it.)

Such an awesome picture, btw. I love spotting graffiti, but that beats almost all of what I've found in various cities.

Wow! I'm flattered you liked it enough to use it yourself.

Vienna is so clean in most places. The graffiti is pretty much concentrated on the canal walls, so it's high density.

It's such an awesome shot!

I will remember that if I ever visit. =D

Yes, you're right. I was messing around with filters & forgot to turn that one off. Here's one without the reduced contrast:

LJ is rubbish at resizing. I've put it on Flickr:

Have put it up under Creative Commons licensing, so it should be good to share!
