Madrid, Spain

I shall be going to Madrid for the first time this July. Does anyone have recommendations for good rambling areas in the city?

(I have never been to Madrid, but) I was going to suggest you could do a Metro walk! Then I saw quite how much of it there is and realised that doesn't really cut your choices down very much...

I like the idea! The Number 2 line (the red one) seems to weave through the centre - that might be a good one to follow.

I found a Google Maps overlay of the Metro system, which might be of interest!
