The cap of St Mary and St Stephen's church is unforgivably wonky but there was nothing to be done to get a better angle. I was extremely lucky with the caps I took from the boat though. (My most recent set of caps from Brum are the WORST photo set I've ever considered posting on t'interwebz but still, I hope, better than laboriously linking to other people's better images, or nothing at all). I hope your flanage is going well!

I think older fingerposts are mostly a countryside phenomenon although I've noticed new ones appearing for tourists, especially in pedestrianised areas (like traditional footpath signs). The most obscure street furniture word you need in South London is probably "coalposts" or something, heh.
